This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) extensively describes how the Smile Train app (hereinafter referred to as “the App”) collects, uses, and discloses your Personal Information when visiting or using the app. The App is committed to ensuring the safety and privacy of all its users. Though intended as an educational or speech application, the App should only be used with supervision of an adult parent or guardian.
Smile Train Philippines is committed to the highest levels in protecting the information that you provide us. This Policy is aimed to outline the reason for collecting your Personal Information and the manner in which we collect, store, use or disclose your Personal Information. The information that is to be collected by the App is solely for the purpose of improving the user experience of each User. We assure all our Users that the App does not in any way record or share personally identifying data.
In the event the user elects to terminate their account from the App, the App and Smile Train Philippines does not keep the data.
Smile Train Philippines reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time, without any notice, by posting a modified version of the Policy on our App, however, we will never materially change our Policy to make them less protective of Personal Information collected in the past. Any such change will be effective immediately upon posting the same.
By using the App, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Reasons for collection of Personal Information and manner of its collection
The only personal information asked in the App shall be the parent and/or guardian’s e-mail address only.
The collection of such information ensures that the user experience shall be seamless and free from any potential problems. The App merely saves the Users progress through the e-mail address provided and does not intend to use or share such information in any other manner or to any other entity.
The App does not in any way have the capability to collect any other personal data or information other than the said e-mail address. It also does not track other vital personal information such as location or device information.
Furthermore, the App does not intentionally collect personal information from children. Smile Train Philippines endeavors that it shall not in any manner collect, store, use or sell any sensitive information relating to children. Should you be a parent and/or guardian who suspects that your child may have provided sensitive or personal information to our App, feel free to contact us immediately.
Nature of Personal Information
Please note that this App will not in any manner collect or request to collect any other data other than the e-mail address.
While a username may be required to register, the Users are not required (and are highly discouraged) to use their legal names. The Users have complete autonomy on the usage of their usernames in order to maintain anonymity and privacy. No other personal information such as birthdays, address and the like are to be requested from the User.
Should the User be a minor, Smile Train Philippines commits that it shall not in any manner collect sensitive information from them, which includes, but are not limited to, authentication information, microphone and camera sensor data, device data, ad usage data or device phone number of the minor without the express consent of the parent or legal guardian of the said minor. The terms and conditions of giving such consent shall be sent to the parent or legal guardian’s email to ensure that there is proper notice. Any other data which may be deemed sensitive under our data privacy laws are not to be collected from the said minor.
Furthermore, to ensure the protection of the User’s privacy and personal information, it is the e-mail address of the parent and/or guardian that shall be requested by the App.
Pursuant to this, Smile Train undertakes that the proper collecting, processing and storing of the personal information is of paramount importance and will take precautionary measures to ensure that the handling of such information will not be detrimental to the User. Disclosure of Personal Information
Unless otherwise provided in this Policy, Smile Train endeavors itself to prohibit transferring of your Personal Information to any third party. There shall be no such selling or trading of Personal Information in any manner. However, Smile Train
encourages Users to always keep abreast of any communication regarding the handling of their Personal Information. .
Security procedures for the protection of your Personal Information
Smile Train Philippines shall endeavor itself to take appropriate measures to ensure that the Personal Information shared is protected pursuant to applicable laws and regulations on data privacy and security.
